Melanie Marie Eller’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, warmth, and quiet joy. Born on June 13, 1963, in Erie, Pennsylvania, she carried that warmth with her throughout her 62 years, touching the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. On March 31, 2026, she passed peacefully at her home in Ashtabula, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy rooted in family, kindness, and togetherness.
Melanie was the heart of her family. She shared a deep and devoted marriage with her beloved husband, Bradley Eller, and was a proud, loving mother to Christopher (Ashley) Hutzell, Joclynn (Brian) Matzek, and Jessica (Tony) Pugliese. Nothing brought her greater happiness than her role as “Grandma” to her eight cherished grandchildren—Christopher, Bianca, Isabella Hutzell; Hayley, Bryce, Leah, and Kenzie Matzek; and Adolin Pugliese—each of whom she adored beyond measure.
She is reunited in peace with her parents, Richard and Mildred Bodisch; her brother, Richard Bodisch; and her stepmother, Jean Bodisch.
Melanie will be remembered for the way she made life feel special in the simplest of moments. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and connection, where her talent for cooking brought family and friends together around the table. She loved hosting gatherings outdoors, where laughter came easily, and everyone felt at home.
She found quiet happiness in tending her garden and watching birds, appreciating the beauty and stillness of nature. Traveling also brought her joy, especially her treasured trips to the Outer Banks, where she created lasting memories surrounded by the people she loved most. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the traditions she created, the memories she nurtured, and the love she shared will continue to live on in all who knew her.
The family will be holding a visitation at Behm Family Funeral Home in Geneva on April 10, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Melanie will be cremated, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her. As we gather to celebrate the life of Melanie Marie Eller, we invite all to join us in remembering a wonderful woman who brought so much love and positivity into the lives of her family and friends. In this time of sorrow, we thank you for your thoughts and prayers as we honor her memory and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
