Marie V. Pinkston, 70, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering faith.

Marie was deeply devoted to her family, friends, community, and to God. Her life was defined by compassion and commitment, qualities she carried into every role she embraced. She was especially honored to serve as the Corps Sergeant Major at The Salvation Army, a position that reflected her dedication to supporting and uplifting those around her.

Marie’s kindness, generosity of spirit, and loving smile touched countless lives. She will be remembered for the warmth she brought to every interaction and the love she freely shared with all who knew her.

Marie is survived by her children Delmus (Nadine) Pinkston III, Tracy Pinkston, David Meister, Derek Pinkston, and Erin (Carson) Pinkston; her grandchildren Yusuf, Khalil, Bilal, Adam, Damonich, Naomie, Luana, and Colestah; and her great grandchildren Asraius, Feuron, and Jaden. Each of them carries forward her strength, her compassion, and the deep love she poured into her family. She was proceeded in death by her husband Delmus Pinkston Jr, both her parents (Richard and Martha), and multiple siblings (Richard, Ron, Roger, Phil, Peg).

A service to celebrate Marie’s life will be held on February 24, 2026, at Behm Family Funeral Home in Madison, Ohio. A closed casket viewing will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a service at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place graveside at 2:15 PM, with a reception to follow at The Salvation Army in Painesville beginning at 3:00 PM.

She cared about the less fortunate and she definitely displayed her Christian life by her walk everyday. Her granddaughter was definitely her Joy!
