  1. I always appreciated Marty and his hard work in MLSD. He was one of a kind always having a smile on his face. He and Diane were also great neighbors of ours we when lived in the same development. May he rest in peace.

    • Marty was the first neighbor I met when I moved into my home. He always lent a helping hand. I had many great conversations with him over the years even after he moved from his home. He was a proud grandfather.

  2. We surely miss you in the kitchens Marty and your stories and smile. Thanks for being our mail man/delivery man for so many years. Like you always said at 1:30, kick me in the a** and tell me to get the heck outta here. lol. I think of that every day when I punch out.

  3. I’m going to miss you Marty.
I’ll always remember the time you took me fishing and I caught a musky and you said that you have been fishing there for years and never got one.
Love you and thank you for loving and taking
Good care of my sister Diane.

  7. Marty sure made this life brighter!
Always making me laugh every time
We talked, shared tons of stories. Our Grandchildren were his world, and we’re going to miss him at all the future events! Especially your pocket of candy that you always had for us! Forever you’ll be watching over us with your love and guidance! RIP Papa!

  8. I always enjoyed seeing Marty in the mailroom at North Madison Elementary. He always had a bright smile and joyful words to share. Our paths crossed in the last year. He recognized me immediately. We chatted for awhile. Praying for his family.

  9. I remember back in 69? Marty had to walk to Redbird elementary from Campbell rd. To catch bus to High School. December very cold. Janitor would not let kids in out of cold. Marty kicked window in door breaking it. Principal made him pay for window. Marty paid in PENNIES ! Made Marty roll the pennies for bank.

  10. Sorry to hear of Marty’s passing. I enjoyed getting to know him when he stopped at North Elementary on his daily rounds. A genuinely nice man! RIP Marty.

  11. I was so sad to see this. I haven’t worked for MLSD for a while but when I worked at the pre-k and he Would come in to deliver the mail he was always so very kind and always had a smile in his face . He would always call me by name and ask me how my day was and we would make small talk. Just a sweet gentle soul always. Prayers to his wife and family . He was one I will definitely never forget. RIP Marty. 🤍
