Robert Robbie Miller, age 62, of Austinburg passed away July 16, 2017 at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland surrounded by his children. Born December 11, 1954 in Painesville, he was the son of James Jim Miller and Yvonne Bonnie Hume.
Robbie was a great athlete. He held a longstanding swim record in the state of Ohio in the butterfly stroke. He was an early member of the Vikings gymnastics. His main high school sports were tennis, basketball, and football. Robbie spent a partial high school year playing sports in Dade City, Florida. He graduated in 1972 from Geneva High School in Geneva, Ohio. Rob was a proud Geneva Letterman.
Robbie was a hardworking, structural Ironworker for Cleveland Local 17 for 29 years. He worked on Jacobs Field, Gund Arena, Cleveland Browns stadium, the Key Bank skyscraper, along with many others skyscrapers and bridges. He was an ironworker in Ohio, California, Arizona, and Florida. He was a land developer in Sierra Vista, Arizona. He was a co-owner of MW apartments in Geneva, Ohio.
Robbie is survived by his two remarkable children: his daughter, Tiffany Miller (Mike Buck); son, Matthew Miller; grandsons, Samuel Robert and Nathan James Miller; granddaughter, Charlotte Rose Molly Buck; mother, Yvonne Bonnie Miller; brother, Jamie (Margie) Miller; sisters, Mary Miller, Sarah (Denis) Bergeron and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, James E. Jim Miller, Jr.; aunt, Elizabeth Whitney and cousins, Ken and Jim Whitney.
Robbie was a longstanding member of Christ Episcopal Church. He loved golfing, fishing, and boating and most of all Robbie loved his children and beloved grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Christ Episcopal Church, 66 S. Eagle St., Geneva, OH 44041. A memorial service will be held at the church at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. C. Thomas Jackson will be officiating. Final resting place will be Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva.
