Ralph G. “Jerry” Meivogel, age 81 of Madison, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 after a long illness. He was born January 22, 1942 in Painesville to Simon and Beulah Meivogel. He graduated from Perry High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Virginia Crim on March 24, 1991.
He worked at Hubbell in Madison as a certified industrial electrician. He was a member of the Fairport Senior Center and American Legion Post 601 in Madison. He was also a member of many coin clubs, including starting the Madison Coin Club and helping start the Painesville Coin Club. He loved family, fishing, auctions, and helping with Madison High School sporting events.
Along with his loving wife of 32 years, Ralph is survived by his daughter, Julie (Dave) Drennen; sister, Carolyn (Dennis) Means; brothers: John (Mary), Donald (Suzi), and Gary (Marilyn) Meivogel; son-in-law, James Bessey; grandchildren: Derek Bessey, Evelyn Bessey, and Jacob Drennen; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Brenda Bessey.
Celebration of life will be at Chapel United Methodist Church, 2019 Hubbard Rd., in Madison on June 23rd visitation 10 am to 11 am with a Service at 11 am followed by an honor guard ceremony. Final resting place will be at Perry Cemetery. Behm Family Funeral Home of Madison is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
