John M. Hejduk, 83, of Madison, Ohio, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016. He was born April 15, 1933 to Hans and Leona (Andryszak) Ulman, and was later adopted by Joseph Hejduk. He married Maryann Bukky on Feb. 13, 1956.
After high school John was drafted into the Army during the Korean War and served honorably. When he came home he worked at various jobs including Farm Electric, Addressograph Multigraph Company, and finally R.W. Sidley, where he drove truck and retired after 39 years of service. John’s driving “highlight” is being honored for over 2.7 million miles driven with no accidents or tickets. John was a jack-of-all-trades and master of…….some. He loved fishing, wood working, and loved cooking–he cooked for everybody–and he enjoyed baking pie and pastry. John loved his grandkids, and they had a special place in his heart. He left a lasting impression on all his friends, or, everyone he met.
He is survived by his loving children, John (Deborah) Hejduk, Joe (Louise) Hejduk, Chad Hejduk, Annie Korelec, Diana (John) Schmidt; grandchildren, Aimee (Josh), Rebekah (Michael), Jeremy, Ian (Kayla), Sophia, Abigail, Mikayla; great grandchildren, Alissa, Trevor, Austin, Cody, Bradley; sister, Mary (Rick) Fuller; brothers, Joseph (Nancy) Hejduk, Nelson (Cindy) Hejduk; companion of the last 7 years LoRene Klaue. John is preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Maryann; sister Diana Shovelski; and parents.
