Cody R. Carder, age 79, of Thompson, Ohio passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at home. He was born August 10, 1936 to Hazel Lottie (Heatherly) and Ralph Carder. Cody married Marsha Dell McAnlis in Chardon on November 10, 1988.
Cody graduated from Perry High School in 1954. He was a Paratrooper in the U.S. Army and an expert marksman. He was a lifetime member of the Jay Wilson Post 112 in Madison. He was a very unconventional man and a “good old boy one of the originals.” He was always tickled when his family came together. Cody enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and gardening. He always liked a good joke even when it was on him. He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his spouse of 27 years, Marsha; children, Donna (Perry) Ritchie, Steven Carder, Betty (Darrell Voies) Casto, Phil (Carol) Mars; grandchildren, Marie (Mark) Stapleton, Daniel Cody Ritchie, Kathy (Mike Fielder) Casto, Eileen (Mario) Mars Tognon, Heather (Ken Johnston) Casto, Trey Mars, Erica (George) Neider; great-grandchildren, Cody, Harper, Lucy, Penny, Piper; brother, Jim (Monza) Carder; sister, Lenore Murphy; many loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Ralph “Buddy” Carder; his parents, brother, Ronnie Carder; sisters, Mary Sements and Joann Nestor.
