Amilene “Emily” Marie Markovich, age 96, of Chardon, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, July 3, 2023. She was born January 5, 1927 in Onnalinda, PA, the daughter of John and Mary (Kerzic) Likovich. She married Steve Markovich on April 24, 1948 in Winchester, VA.
Amilene loved spending time with her family. She was an active member at the Community Christian Church in Painesville Township. She enjoyed the time spent with her swim friends from the YMCA.
Known by many as Mamie, she is survived by her children, Connie (Roger) Tuttle, Barbara (Jim) LeMasters; Steve Markovich, Pat (Randy) Rose, Mike (Terri) Markovich, Chris (Mike) LeMaster, Darlene (Randy) Primer; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Steve Markovich; her parents; grandchildren, Jessica Rose and James LeMasters; siblings, Mickey (Christine) Mekine, Ann (Christopher) Bastine and Mary (John) Butera, Ludwig, Mildred (John) Kluchar, Veronica (Charles) Bender, and Daniel (Frances) Likovich.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, July 10th at the funeral home. Burial will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon. The family suggests contributions be made in Amilene’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P O Box 1000, Dept. 300, Memphis, TN 38148. Her prayers and thoughtful cards held us through many difficult seasons, and her words encouraged us with strength and hope. We are so grateful to have been blessed by such an amazing woman! Her life was certainly full, and she was a beautiful testimony of love and faithfulness. Our sweet Aunt Mamie will be greatly missed by each of us!
